This quick guide describes the basic configuration required for each user with Exclaimer and what properties in Active Directory are used.
Setting the User Details
The default details are used to identify what the user’s contact details are located within our On-Premise Active Directory environment. Please do not use our Azure AD, as any property you modify there will be overwritten the AD Sync occurs.
When updating a user with a new Phone number, we use the following properties:
For Landline numbers, we use the Telephone Number property on the General tab of the user, as seen below:
For Mobile Numbers, we use the Mobile property on the Telephones tab of the user. For Internal Extension numbers, we use the Fax property of the same tab. See below for examples:
Once you have updated these properties, press the OK button. You will need to wait for the next AD Sync to occur, which is every 30 minutes, and then for the Sync to Exclaimer to occur during the early hours of the next morning.
After the syncs have taken place, the user will have the updated details.
